The Society for Medical Anthropology invites anthropologists and allied scholars and practitioners in healthcare and health policy to participate in a wide-ranging discussion on the state of the field of medical anthropology and the pressing issues facing the health and well-being of those whom we work with and serve. Keynotes, plenaries, and work-in-progress sessions will bring early career and senior scholars together. The conference will be held March 3-5, 2027, at Georgetown University's Capitol Campus, McCourt School of Public Policy.
Scholars and practitioners are invited to dwell in the grey zones of their research and practice where the sharp edges of concepts dissolve and attention is paid to the concrete and the granular.

Abstract submitters registration fee is non-refundable as it is their commitment to presenting at the meeting. Submitters whose proposals are accepted are not eligible for a refund. Submitters whose proposals are not accepted can request a refund at aaameetings@americananthro.org up to 30 days before the event.
